  • Sachin Tendulkar Met Prithvi Shaw 2 Months Ago, Gave Reality-Check: “Get Back On Track…”

Prithvi Shaw has revealed that legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar continues to have faith that he can bounce back.

career has taken a sharp nosedive in recent years. 2024/25 saw the talented opener dropped from Mumbai’s domestic teams, and he also went unsold in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction. However, despite all the downs, Shaw has revealed that legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar still has the faith that he can bounce back. He stated that after his own father, it is Tendulkar who has been a strong support system for him, revealing that he also shares a great bond with Tendulkar’s son, Arjun.

My biggest support system is my father, but after him, he (Tendulkar) knows a lot. Arjun and I have been friends since we were eight or nine years old. Sir also used to be there. He has seen,” Shaw said in an interview with News24.

“Hardly two months ago, he was practising at MIG for the (International) Masters League. I was also there. At such a time, you need a mentor who gives a spark,” Shaw stated.

Shaw revealed that Tendulkar continues to give him words of advice and retains the belief that he can bounce back from his struggles.

“He still believes in me. ‘Prithvi, I have belief and I will continue to believe.’ He has seen me. He has trust. ‘Get back on track. Everything is still possible.’ That belief is very precious to me. Just like my father and a few friends believe,” Shaw spoke about Tendulkar.

Meanwhile, Shaw on Monday ended his ties with home team Mumbai after being granted a No Objection Certificate by the MCA to sign up with a new domestic side for his “growth and development as a cricketer”. Shaw has been out of reckoning from the red ball set-up for some time but has played white ball cricket. However, his off-field disciplinary issues have grabbed more air time than his on-field performances. The Mumbai Cricket Association confirmed receiving Shaw’s request and has given its approval to it.

“The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) would like to inform that cricketer Prithvi Shaw had formally requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to represent another state as a professional player in the upcoming domestic season. After due consideration, the MCA has granted the NOC,” the MC stated MCA Secretary Abhay Hadap said the body appreciates Shaw’s contributions over the years.

“Prithvi Shaw has been an exceptional talent and has contributed significantly to Mumbai cricket. We respect his decision and wish him the very best in his future endeavours,” he stated.

In the letter that Shaw sent to the MCA, the 25-year-old said he was grateful for the time he spent in the Mumbai team, for which he made his debut in 2017, but desires to move on now.

  • After Op Sindoor Success, Indian Drone Startup Raises Massive $100 Million

UAV manufacturing startup Raphe mPhibr, whose drones participated in Operation Sindoor, has raised $100 million in a funding round led by General Catalyst. The Noida-based startup has so far raised $145 million (over Rs 1,200 crore) in the biggest ever fundraise by an Indian aerospace manufacturing firm.

Raphe mPhibr Chief Executive Vivek Mishra told NDTV the key to beating China in drone technology and market is to build “a very strong ecosystem for design, development, and manufacturing.”

Giving an example from his own startup’s experience, Mr Mishra said they needed an internal combustion engine for one of their long-endurance drones, but they could not find an ideal one, so they ended up building one that perfectly matched their needs.

“For one of our long-endurance drones, we needed an internal combustion engine. Anything existing in the market would be either too expensive or too heavy or would not meet performance [parameters]. So we decided that we would design and manufacture the internal combustion engine here,” Mr Mishra said.

“And we were able to do it. This was India’s first design of an internal combustion engine. The goal was not to recreate anything, but to reduce size, weight, increase performance, and attune it to the requirement for the UAV and hence the user,” Mr Mishra said, referring to unmanned aerial vehicles.

  • India Dealt ‘Jasprit Bumrah Blow’ For 2nd Test vs England, Say BCCI Sources. His Replacement May Be…

will miss the second India vs England Test in Birmingham starting on July 2, sources confirmed to NDTV. The star fast bowler, who took five wickets in the first innings of the first Test in Leeds, will not play the second Test as part of workload management. There has been no official confirmation regarding the same. Bumrah’s absence is bound to come as a big blow to the Indian cricket team as the other bowlers lacked the fire-power in  the first Test. While Bumrah took the first five-wicket haul of the series, Prasidh Krishna was expensive while Mohammed Siraj could not get enough wickets. Krishna’s figures were 3/128 in 20 overs and in the second innings it was 2/92 in 15 overs. Mohammed Siraj’s figures were 2/122 in 27 overs in the first innings and 0/51 in 14 overs in the second.

Compared to Bumrah’s figures of 5/140 from 43.4 overs at an economy rate of 3.20, the rest struggled to match his impact. Fast bowling all-rounders Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna combined to return with figures of 9/482 from 92 overs, a massive chasm.

Ahead of the series it was decided that Bumrah will play only three of the five Tests against England. The second Test starts on July 2 in Birmingham, and there is a little gap after that as the third Test starts on July 10 in Lord’s. Bumrah is likely to be available for the third Test.

Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh are the two other specialist pacers in the squad. Medium pace allrounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is another option. Most indications point towards left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh replacing Bumrah in the XI. But again, no one could confrm the development. While Arshdeep has not played any Test, he has ODI and T20I experrience. In T20Is, he is India’s all-time highest wicket-taker with 99 scals in 63 games. Shardul Thakur may also be dropped for Reddy to add more batting muscle

  • Money Can’t Buy Class”: Jeff Bezos’ Wedding Invite Roasted Online

The design of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding invitation has been mocked online for being amateurish and lacking the sophistication expected of a billionaire couple.

The wedding festivities for Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and former news anchor Lauren Sanchez have already begun in Venice, but the couple has found itself at the centre of an unexpected criticism – their wedding invitation.

A glimpse of the invite, obtained by ABC News, has triggered a wave of ridicule online. The couple, together for six years, will exchange vows in a multi-day celebration said to include an official ceremony on the picturesque island of San Giorgio Maggiore on Friday, June 27.

Far from the elegance expected of a billionaire’s wedding, the invitation’s design – a collage of butterflies, birds, feathers, and shooting stars in shades of pink and blue, set against a stark white background – has been branded “atrocious” and “ugly” by social media users.

The card included a message requesting guests not to bring gifts. It read, “We are excited for you to join us! We have one early request: please, no gifts.

Instead, the invite said the couple would make charitable contributions on behalf of attendees. “Donations on your behalf are being made to the UNESCO Venice Office to safeguard this city’s irreplaceable cultural heritage, to CORILA to restore the vital lagoon habitats that protect Venice’s future, and to Venice.”

“This magical place has gifted us unforgettable memories. Our hope is that through these efforts and by you joining us, Venice will continue to inspire wonder for generations to come,” the invitation added
